Day 12: Throw a Doll Christmas Party!

Hey girls!!  For the last day, I decided to give some ideas on throwing the perfect Doll Christmas party!

1. Invitations-Make some cute or fancy (whatever your style) invitations!  Hand them out to your dolls and include the date/time. :)

2. Decorations!-Of course, every festive party needs the perfect decorations!  Hang some ornaments and tinsel, put a doll tree up, and even hang the snowman hanging I showed how to make! :)

3. Food!-For food, use some of AG's Christmas food, but if you don't want to get that (or don't have it), local craft stores will have cute food erasers for only $1-$5!  The prices are great! :)

4. Dress Up!-Put your dolls in their Christmas or holiday outfits, and do their hair! ;) Use ribbons, bows and other "Christmas-y"

Day 11: Watch a Christmas movie!

Snuggle up with your dolls and make some popcorn–it's time for a Christmas movie!  Choose an American Girl Christmas movie (Felicity, Samantha or Molly) and put your dolls in their pajamas!  Take pictures and post them online! :)

Day 10: Doll Christmas Present Ideas

Planning on giving each of your dolls a little gift, but don't want to spend $20 each?  Here are some doll present ideas! :)

1. Check Etsy Shops-Look online to find 18" doll items being sold, I recommend Etsy.  There are great prices, and you can get presents for good deals!  

2. Make them!-Make your doll's presents!  Does your doll love books?  Make a book!  Does your doll love phones?  Make a mini iPhone for her (or an iPad)

3. Check a Dollar Store!-They have awesome items for only $0.50-$1.00!  You can find a bunch of cute items for your dolls!

Day 9: Doll Christmas Lists (Part 2)

Hey girls!  Now it's time for Day 9!  Wow, December has gone so fast!  I can't believe it will soon be January (2014!!!) and in 2 months it will be my ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!  I can't believe it! ;)  Anyways, back to the present! :) 

For Part 2, you will need:

An AG magazine (that you don't mind cutting)

Your doll Christmas List

Tape

Scisscors

First, cut out of the magazine what your doll wants!

After you've cut it out, make sure it looks nice, then..

Put some tape on the back (but turn it over like that ^)

Then, stick them on your card, and write what your dolls want!

There you go! :) A simple, easy Doll Christmas List!

Day 8: Braid Bun Hairstyle

Hey girls!  Sorry this is a day late, yesterday was busy with a Christmas concert, so I wasn't able to post.  But I'll be posting yesterday's hairstyle with a new Christmas post today! :)

For this hairstyle you will need:

A Doll Hairbrush or pick

2 Doll Ponytails (mainly only 1, but another in case you need to help secure the bun)

And a few bobby pins to help secure the bun

Step 1: Brush your doll's hair through with a hairbrush

Step 2: Braid your doll's hair into one, normal braid behind her back.

A bit like this ;) 

Step 3: Above your doll's braid, take your finger through it and make a hole, like that ^^

Step 5: Take the end of your doll's braid and pull it through the hole!

Keep pulling ;)

Step 6: It should look a bit like that.  Take some of the bobby pins and secure it with bobby pins and your extra hair band! :)

Day 7: Make a Snowman Hanging

Hey girls!  Isn't it so fun to make your own decorations for your doll's room?  Well here's a fun, simple idea, and you'll probably have all the supplies to make it!

Remember back in the AG Magazine one or two years ago, when they sent little snowmen punch-outs and the craft?  Well now, I'm going to share how YOU can make your own Snowman Hanging!

Here are the supplies you will need:

Markers

Sharpees 

Hole-Puncher

Scissors

Thread

White Printer Paper (or Construction Paper)

Scotch Tape (just in case, not essential)

Step 1: Draw a snowman (you can draw three circles, I just drew two though ;)) on the white printer paper.  If you need to, practice drawing snowmen until you get the hang of it.

I added a little top hat just for fun ;)

Step 2: Next, cut the snowman out around the edges..  Careful though, you don't want to cut your snowman! :D

Step 3: Take your hole puncher and punch two holes side by side on the snowman's top hat

Like this :)

Step 4: Next, take the thread and pull it through both of the holes on the snowman's top hat!

Step 5: Repeat the same steps and make more snowmen, but do different shapes, sizes and looks!

Step 6: After you've made all your snowmen, start to customize them

I drew a little blue scarf on the first snowman I made! 

When your done, you'll have a beautiful snowmen hanging, just like the one AG sent out! :)

Day 6: Room Decorating Tips

Hey girls!
Every holiday season, I love to decorate my doll's room with Christmas decorations.  Trying to come up with ideas for the perfect doll Christmas themed room?  Well here are a few! :)
1. Sparkly Tinsel!
Tinsel is always a fun holiday decoration, and you can use it for your doll's room!  If you have the long tinsel (that sticks together), hang it around your doll's room.  If you have the the little strips of tinsel, take a few and stick them on a piece of tape (so they are the same length) and stick the tape in your doll's room!  Perfect! 
2. Stockings
Of course, your dolls need little stockings to hang!  You can find mini stockings for great prices at your local Dollar Store, Target or Walmart.  Then you can use little stick-on letters (or make your own) to show which doll's stocking it is!  You can also use an old baby sock for a stocking.
3. A Christmas Tree!
Small Christmas trees can be hard to find, but you can look for them at Walmart, Target or Hobby Lobby.  They are simply adorable--but of course you need some mini ornaments to hang on the tree!  Hobby Lobby has great mini ornaments--so check there!
4. Snowmen
You can make little snowmen from socks, make snowmen wall hangings or just use a stuffed animal snowman to make your doll's room look "wintery."  Put him in some "snow" (tinsel) and make a wintery scene around him!
5. Come up with your own!
There are so many ideas we haven't listed, waiting to be made by you!  So think of your own idea and make your doll's room look festive!

Day 5: Make Your Christmas List!

Hey girls!
Today was a busy day so today's Christmas idea is going to be quick.  :)
So, since it is nearing Christmas--of course you need to make your Christmas list!  To decide, think of some things you really, really want, and just add them!  Stuck deciding between two things?  Make a list of pros and cons about each item.  Whichever has more pros, go for it!  Or, if it is going to retire soon (for AG items) try to go with the one you think will retire/be sold out soon.

Day 4: Make a Doll Christmas Card!

To celebrate the holidays, I always love making Christmas cards! :) And I thought it would be super fun to show you how to take the perfect picture, edit it, and make it into a Christmas Card!

First to make a Christmas card, I'd take some pictures of your dolly family.  I would also use some of your dolly pictures you've taken in the past! :D

It's always fun to take family photos! :) Arrange your dolls in nice positions and make them pose!

It's always fun to take funny pictures, too! :) Here's Sydney Lee photobombing the picture!

And now, time to start editing your card!

First, go through all the photos and choose  the ones you like best!  After you've selected them, use a few of them and edit them (make little Santa hats or something on them).  To do so, I'd recommend using FotoFlexer (www.fotoflexer.com)  After you have your pic ready, go to decorate and click on 'stickers.' 

Here's what I did with the stickers!

After your done, use all the pictures you want to use and make it into a collage, and I recommend Photovisi for that. :) Just create it into collage, add a "Merry Christmas!" on it and your doll's names, and your set!  Here's the finishing Christmas card:

Day 3: Doll Christmas Lists (Part 1)

Hey girls!  It's Hope, and for Day 3, AG Dolly Sisters is going to show you how to make a really simple Christmas Card for your doll :)

This is what your card is going to look like.  We are going to post Part 2 (what the inside can look like) in a few days :)

So, for this project you will need:

Paper (Printer or Lined)

A marker

Scissors

Tape or glue (either one you choose)

An AG magazine or a computer to print AG item pictures off of

First, cut some of the lined paper into a small square!

This is what it would look like.  Fold it in half after you've connected it to the right

Then write your doll's name on the front, next you can start customizing the inside! :)

You can use an AG magazine to cut out pictures of the items your doll wants, or print them off your computer!

Day 2: Holiday Ribbon Twist Hairstyle

Hey girls!  Of course, I am always trying to look for cute doll holiday hairstyles, so I decided to share one with you! :)  This is called the Holiday Ribbon Twist Hairstyle.  Here's a list of the things you will need:

Doll Hairbrush (or Wire Hairbrush safe for doll hair use)

1 Hair Band

A Blue or Red (Holiday color) Ribbon (not always nescessary)

 Here we go! :) 

Step 1: Gently brush out your doll's hair with a hairbrush or pick.

Step 2: Seperate your doll's hair into 2 sections, making the right section a bit smaller than the left.

Step 3: Grab the right section and brush through it lightly.

Step 4: Begin to twist the right section of your doll's hair.  Not too hard or too softly, but right in between :)

Step 5:Take the twisted part of your doll's hair and attach it to the left side of your doll's hair

Step 6: Attach them together and put it into a side ponytail

Step 7: Next, take your hair ribbon and tie a bow around the hair band. 

And there you go! :) A simply, easy to do hair ribbon holiday style for YOU our your dolls! :D
